You don 't have to go far to find a little slice of wild close to the city. Though this place is being gobbled up by subdivisions all around it, somehow the staff keeps the place looking as pristine as possible. I don't kow how they do it with such little funding. Trails are rugged and rough, but that's how I like them. Reminds me of Isle Royale at times. Sit and watch the birds and small mammals. Read and listen to nothing - though the noise from the highway is loud at times you can block it out. Hats off to the people who care so much and get so little in return for helping presere nature.

Buboltz Nature Preserve is a great place to go for hikes. They have great sights on your walk, ponds, plants, and animals. There are different trails to take depending on how long you want to go.

Buboltz Nature Center is a great place to take the family for some outdoor fun. They have different trails to hike on, each different lengths so you can choose what works best for you. While walking you get to enjoy beautiful scenery and animals. Inside the builing you can even learn facts and look at different exhibits.
